In the time it takes
For two to conversate
I felt a quake
In my soul, so great
The thought that this might
Be slipping out of sight
Frightens me to my core
But I could not ask for more
I spent two days
Learning different ways
To make you smile
And to make you frown
I spent two days
Only a heartbeat away
From an apparent kindred soul
Now I lay awake wondering
What could be lying ahead
All that could have been said
And what it all means
I'm at a loss for words
As this poem winds to an end
I've found a girl worth pursuing
And I no longer have to pretend
