Jericho

These city walls are crumbling
these city walls are falling
like Jericho and the pious
the walls leave us free
and susceptible to pain
the walls used to be our barrier
to keep the demons out
but a few drinks and a 'lude
have left us out in the open
and the devil comes in
He tricks and preys
on our insecurities
He lies in wait
to change our love to hate
And turn us against one another
He brings with him famine
A choice of evil
Or still more evil
But we still have our sandbags
To build a barrier
for evil to stumble upon
And for the innocent to escape.
